Dr. Pankaj Koparde is an evolutionary ecologist, presently working with MIT-WPU Pune as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Sustainability Studies. He is having 12+ years of research & teaching experience. 

His research spans biodiversity conservation, urban ecology, phylogenetics & molecular ecology, biodiversity informatics, and science outreach. He was awarded the Start-Up Research Grant by DST-SERB, Government of India. He is a recognized Ph.D. guide in Sustainable Studies at MIT-WPU. 

He is an admin of DragonflySouthAsia, OwlIndia, and RoadKill Network. He is actively involved in the co-creation of knowledge by outreach through the use of popular media and citizen science.

He is a TEDx speaker, Prakriti Fellow, IUCN Contributor, EarthWatch Fellow, SAEVUS Magazine’s ‘Rising Star of Conservation‘ awardee, and Maharashtra Vruksha Samvardhini’s Young Scientist awardee.
