Bio:
Dr. Aparna Watve is a renowned ecologist and conservation scientist. She is presently working with Biome Foundation and Shashwat. She has handled numerous projects on ecology and conservation.
Dr. Watve has a diatom species named after her. Her work on the UNESCO World Heritage site Kaas Plateau is a milestone in community-based conservation. She is an IUCN Red List Authority Coordinator.
She is associated with the Faculty of Sustainability Studies as a visiting professor. She teaches concepts in socioecology and conservation to MSc Environmental Science students.
